Norwegian preview (Norsk bokmål)
Norwegian Basics (Norsk grunnlag)
Norsk (bokmål)
A short orientation to Bokmål spelling, pronunciation, and sentence patterns.
The alphabet and sounds
Norwegian Bokmål uses the Latin alphabet plus æ, ø, and å. Vowel length and pitch patterns matter, and pronunciation varies by region. The guides here are broad approximations for learners.
A useful sentence pattern
A simple Norwegian sentence often follows subject–verb–object order: Jeg snakker norsk. — I speak Norwegian. In main clauses, the finite verb commonly occupies the second position, even when another element begins the sentence.
This introductory preview uses Bokmål and remains pending native-speaker review.
